Release Blitz, Review & Giveaway: Hell's Ink by Nicole Reed

In this Brotherhood you live or die by the three-piece patch. For Hold Dawson, Vice-President of the Hells Highwaymen Motorcycle Club, it’s not just black ink tattooed on his body, but the religion he worships, and the law that governs his life. Nothing else matters. Family by choice and not by blood. More sacred than a shared name. Bound by respect. Loyal to death.

Unity. Respect. Love. Devotion. Forever.

But there’s another side to this life. One the President, Hold’s own father, lives and regulates by.

Merciless. Wrathful. Murderous. Dishonest. Lethal.

It’s blood in and blood out and only one man gets to be king.

As soon as I finished reading Beautiful Ink, I sent a text to a Nicole Reed. This is what I said....

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me that we will get more of Hold?!?!?! He totally stole me heart and I NEED more of him!!!

So, I don't need to tell you how excited I was when I found out that I was getting my wish with Hell's Ink!

The beginning of this book tore me to pieces! To suffer through Hold's punishment right along with him was torture. I know it's the MC way but it didn't make reading it any easier. And as much as I loved Hels in Beautiful Ink, to see the aftermath of destruction left in her wake, made me hate her just a little. Not only did Hold have to suffer the warth of his dad but it also drove a wedge between him and his best friend.

And I guess my resentment towards Hels also came from the fact that I wanted her to pick Hold. I mean, why wouldn't she want to be with this fine ass man?! Yes, I loved Luke too but Hold is just so damn hot! This book showed me WHY he didn't get his HEA with Hels. She wasn't cut out for the club life. He needed someone who could handle that AND him.

I don't want to say too much more as I do not want to spoil the book for anyone All I CAN say is, buckle up 'cause Hell's Ink is going to take you one helluva ride! Nicole does an amazing job once again of capturing the raw, grittiness of the MC life. And she also incorporates plenty of smexy scenes in there to make you thankful for the cold outside, because you are going to need to cool off quite a bit after reading them!

He watched her slender artist’s hand caress her taut, tattooed abdomen, instantly jealous that it wasn’t his own blunt fingers that idly drifted across her silky flesh. Her eyes flickered with awareness to where he stood at the end of the bed watching her. It only made his balls draw up tight. His rock-hard erection jutted outward, thick and long. He couldn’t halt his hand from massaging it with slow, steady jerks. His teeth burrowed painfully into his bottom lip. - Hell's Ink

Blog Tour: Finding Laila by T.K. Rapp

Title: Finding Laila
Author: T.K. Rapp
Release Date: Jan 13, 2015

Goodreads

Joey, Cole, Haden and Braxton have been a constant in my life since I was five, and I have loved being one of the guys.

I’ve been cheerleader.

I’ve been study partner.

I’ve been listener.

When we’re young, we don’t realize the profound impact certain people will have on our lives. I had no idea twelve years ago I’d meet four boys who would turn out to be my best friends, my soul mates - my barmy.

Now school is almost done, our last summer together is drawing closer, and I’m trying to hold on to what we have while I still can. After this we’ll have to say goodbye to each other, as our choices will take our lives in different directions. But I don't know if our friendship can survive once secrets and surprises begin revealing themselves to us at every turn.

When it’s all said and done, will our friendships remain unbreakable? Or will our once strong bond prove to be weaker than we anticipated?

Letting go is harder than I thought, but some changes are necessary.

And finding Laila…finding myself…may be the greatest journey of all.

Remember the kids who lived in the same street  as you growing up?  There was always someone around to play with and sometimes get into trouble with!  Laila has that in Joey, Haden, Braxton and Cole.  Yep four boys that she lived nearby, went to school with and grew up with.

"They were my barmy - my boy army - and I liked it that way." - Laila

Now they are in their last year of high school and 12 months from now their lives will change when they all head off to different colleges.   Being the only girl in a group of boys has made her a target for gossip and rumors at school.  Laila has learnt to ignore it for the most part and shrugs it all off.

This year she will find out that one of the guys has been in love with her for years.  To her they are like her brothers but how will she feel when one of them opens up his heart to her? This isn't the only surprise that life has in store for though, there are more truths revealed to her that will leave her wondering who she really is.

Through all of this stuff going on in her life are her lovely 'Barmy.'  I was in awe of Laila's amazing friendship with these guys.  They all support each other with love and acceptance, putting their friendship above all else.  As they navigate the path into adulthood things do change for all of them and I have to say that the epilogue left me in tears.

"We have made friendships we will have for a long time, while other friendships have come to an end.  Hearts have been broken, only to be patched up when someone new comes along.
We made mistakes - lots of them.  But we learned.  We fought.  We laughed. We partied.
We did everything we should do in high school.  We lived."

This was a really sweet coming of age story and I give this 4 stars

“I guess we know the flavor of the week,” a female voice says from behind me, causing several others with her to laugh.

I know they’re talking about me. They’re always talking about me. It’s been this way since I was in seventh grade, but I’ve made it my mission to ignore it.

“She certainly gets around,” another voice chimes in.

Cole is sitting to my left, Haden to my right and both guys are staring at the field, but neither is paying attention to the game. I watch out of my peripheral as Haden’s forearm muscles tense and relax while Cole bites his lip. They are intently focused on the words being thrown at me, but keep quiet for the time being.

“She must be good because they all stick around,” a guy’s voice states in salacious tone that makes me nauseous.

I don’t wait for another barb to be hurled my way, even though I know it’s coming. I throw my arm around Haden and whisper something in his ear before kissing his cheek then turning to do the same to Cole. I lean forward to see Joey, who is next to Cole and give him a wink, “I’ll get you later, Baby.”

He shakes his head and laughs, “Why must you stir the pot?”

Haden smiles - proud of my display - and it pushes me on.

I turn to look at the three classmates who have stopped chattering long enough to watch my little show, jaws hanging open. I shrug my shoulders, and answer Joey, “I’m just giving them what they want.”

One of the girls, Kasey, looks at me and raises a brow, “And what about Braxton?”

I glance over to Cole who’s listening to everything, but is still watching the game. He smirks, as if he knows what’s coming and a smile of my own begins to break.

They are gawking at me when I turn and wet my lips before winking at the girls.

“If he wins, we all win,” I say huskily.

“Touchdown!” The announcer yells and the crowd jumps to their feet to celebrate. All but the three jerks behind me.

T.K. Rapp is a Texas girl born and raised. She earned a B.A. in Journalism from Texas A&M and it was there that she met the love of her life. He had a contract with the U.S. Navy that would take them across both coasts, and ultimately land them back home in Texas.

Upon finally settling in Texas, T.K. worked as a graphic designer and photographer for the family business that her mom started years earlier. She was able to infuse her creativity and passion, into something she enjoyed, but something was still missing. There was a voice in the back of her head that told her to write, so write, she did. And, somewhere on an external hard drive, are several stories she started and never finished.

Now at home, raising her two daughters, T.K. has more time to do the things she loves, which includes photography and writing. When she’s not doing one of those, she can be found with her family, which keeps her busy. She enjoys watching her kids in their various sporting activities (i.e. doing the soccer mom thing), having Sunday breakfast at her parent’s house, singing out loud and out of key or dancing like a fool. She loves raunchy humor, gossip blogs and a good book.

Review: Here With Me by Heidi Mclaughlin

Ryley Clarke has grown up with the military in her blood, with both parents serving their country. Ryley knows the risks of being married to the military. But when the unthinkable happens, and her future husband is killed in action, Ryley can barely survive... until Evan's twin brother, Nate, helps her pick up the pieces.

After serving on a special mission with the military for six years, Evan Archer returns home to find the unthinkable - the love of his life, Ryley Clarke - engaged to his brother, Nate. With Nate on deployment, Evan needs to figure out what happened in his absence, and more importantly, how to win Ryley back from the man he once considered his best friend, but now thinks of as his rival.

Evan is living his worst nightmare. After being gone on a secret mission that went VERY wrong, he returns home to find everything he thought he had waiting on him, no longer his. He is shocked and saddened that everything he knew and believed in, is now called into question.

Ryley believed that Evan and the love they shared was gone. She picked up the pieces the best way she knew how and got on with life. Never in her wildest dreams did she ever believe there'd be a day where he'd return, expecting her to be waiting with open arms.
Things just got a whole lot messy. Neither know how to move forward and they also don't know how to let go.

This book gutted me. I understood Ryley moving on with her life after believing Evan was never coming back, I really did. I just couldn't wrap my head around who she did it with. It made me not really like her as much as I think I would've given different circumstances. I loved Evan's character so much that it made me feel the sense of betrayal on his behalf that much deeper.

I loved the way the author set this book up to give us that back storyline to better understand the characters and their connection. I felt it was very unique and took the book to that next level.

The sexual tension was through the roof with Ryley and Evan! And while it was hot, I was so glad the author respected the characters and their relationship enough not to take things too far. A refreshing change to find in a book!

I did go into this one without reading reviews, so I was a little upset to get to the end only to find out there is a cliffy. So, just a heads up for those would like waiting until all books in the series are available.

Review: The Mason List by S.D. Hendrickson

An epic love. An epic hate. An epic story that would last a lifetime.

I hurt. I hurt so deeply, I felt the pain searing in my bones and jabbing like a hot poker into my heart. I knew nothing would make it better as the memories pulled from the crevices of my mind, detailing the bad and the ugly, filling my thoughts with regret as I slipped into the darkness. . .

When I was eight, my mother was dying of cancer, my father lost his job, and the bank kicked us out of our house. I was forced to move to the strange town of Arlis, Texas where my father and I slept in our car in the hospital parking lot. Desperate and hopeless, we lived on fumes of our former life.

Then one night, everything changed forever. A knock on the car window brought a family into my life that I only wanted to shut out. I hated charity and I hated the Masons. Well, except one. He made it impossible to hate him.

Jess Mason had the biggest blue eyes and ornery smile of any boy I had ever seen. He was a ray of sunshine in my dark world. A boy full of adventure, dragging me across the meadow of Sprayberry Ranch; a beautiful Texas paradise full of horses and tree houses that got us into more trouble than anyone ever imagined.

Jess was my everything as a kid until we grew up and the rules changed. Instead of living happily ever after with a boy full of love. . . I destroyed it.
- Alex Tanner

Author Note: The Mason List is a coming-of-age story that follows the life of Alex Tanner from the age of six to twenty-six. The novel crosses the genres of Young Adult and New Adult. The Mason List is a standalone, 118,940 word, full-length novel.

WOW.

This book.

I love stumbling upon books like this one! They make me feel like I hit the book lottery. See, I'm what you could consider an emotional reader. I like to connect with the characters on a personal level. I want to feel all the emotions they are feeling. I want to be so immersed in the story that I forget the rest of the world around me exist.

The Mason List is a book that definitely gave me all of that and SO much more.

This book is a friends to lover type story (my favorite kind!). You will feel as though you're part of Jess and Alex's journey from young children with too much time on their hands (oh, the trouble they get into!!) to adults, trying to find their place in the world. The progression of their relationship will seem almost inevitable. But circumstances will continue to get in the way and their friendship is put to the ultimate test.

There is a perfect balance of angst, humor, heat, heartbreak and every other emotion you can possibly think of. The author did an amazing job of truly portraying all the emotions the characters were feeling at any given moment in their lives. My heart ached for Alex and all that her little eight year old self had to go through. My gut twisted at the mistakes she made along the way.

I seriously could go on and on and on about all the feels this book gave me. But I'm going to end my review here. This is a book you have to experience for yourself to truly understand what I'm trying to convey in my review. If you're in doubt, just download the sample, that alone with give you a taste of the amazing writing and powerful story that is The Mason List!

Mia Cantrell is happy to be rid of her lying, cheating, ex-husband. With her divorce final, Mia is moving on, grasping the reins of life once more. She’s learning to deal with the shattered remains while putting one foot in front of the other, taking control of her own decisions, and ultimately living one day at a time. Too bad the universe has put a hiccup (or two) in her well thought out plan.

Phoenix Pierce is putting the pieces back together after the death of his father. Between his multi-million dollar company, the NHL team he now owns, and the endless supply of women willing to share a bed for one night of uninhibited sex, he finds himself going through the motions. Until he meets Mia. Although he’s on a mission to win her, that doesn’t solve his problem of the other person he wants… the man he has denied himself for years.

Tarik Marx doesn’t think anyone could ever fill the void in his life the way Phoenix unknowingly has. That is until he meets Mia. Thanks to a fractured childhood, Tarik has to face a bigger problem: he doesn’t know how it feels to be loved. Erotic Ménage Romance

As soon as I saw that this was being released by Nicole Edwards, it was an automatic must read for me.  Nicole writes some of the sexiest books I have read and this book was no exception.
Mia fell in love at college and married her sweetheart not long after.  She is now 24 years old, divorced and about to continue on with the college plans she had put on hold.  Her husband turned out to be a cheating jerk and now it's time for her to put herself first, taking steps toward a new life.
Meeting a sexy guy in the elevator at her new apartment block was not something she expected.  This guy is almost dangerously hot, well dangerous to her.  The male pheromones seem to be pouring off him and invading her senses, anytime he is anywhere near her.
"She could feel Phoenix's eyes on her, and that giddy feeling stirred in her belly.
There was no way she was getting away from this man.  Not even if she wanted to.
Which, she was quickly realising she didn't."
Phoenix Pierce is every girls wet dream, he is hot and sexy and he is also beautiful to look at.  But wait there's more.  Tarik Marx is the personal assistant/bodyguard for Phoenix and he is just as equally stunning to look at.  Imagine being in a lift with both of these men flanking you, talk about a panty melting fantasy!
Phoenix and Tarik have known each other for years.  They have dabbled a bit sexually and there is a strong sexual attraction between then.  When they meet Mia, they are both drawn to her.  They both want her.
This is a beautiful, erotic story about self discovery and finding who you were meant to be with.  Okay it is also freaking steaming hot, like really steaming hot!
I give this 4 stars.
