Release Day Blitz: Lovelines by S. Walden

Arrive to work at 7:58 A.M. sharp. Check. Count forty-seven steps to cubicle. Check. Arrange pens in their red-blue-black-green-purple order of importance. Check. Apply hand sanitizer before opening email. Double check.

And that’s just the first few minutes of her work day.

Thirty-one-year-old proofreader Bailey Mitchell is a slave to her tics. She inherited Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder from her father, and it’s done nothing but inhibit her love life. She’s run the gamut of boyfriends—none of them willing or able to cope with her condition.

Enter 32-year-old Reece Powell, her new coworker at Beach Elite Marketing Firm. He’s more than willing to cope. He finds her habits cute and quirky . . . for now. Reece wins her over, and life coasts along for them until Bailey experiences a devastating blow. Tragedy exacerbates her OCD, and Reece realizes her tics aren’t so cute and quirky anymore. Just like all the others, he has the choice to leave.

But Reece isn't like all the others.

The Wilmington Saga
Follow the stories of Wilmington, NC residents as they fall in and out of love, mend and break hearts, grow, change, lose, win, and experience what it means to truly live in this small coastal community.

This wonderful book was responsible for my lack of 'being present' in my household.  It's only fair that I pass on this warning because once you start you will not be able to put it down until you are done.
Firstly, wow, Summer you have yet again completely captivated my mind with your extraordinary talent to write books that completely draw the reader in, allow us all to become friends with the characters and ending with us thanking you for the ride.
I loved everything about this story and I have found a new book boyfriend to day dream about :)
Bailey has just turned 31 years old, works as a proofreader and lives by herself in a home she bought and takes a lot of pride in.  Oh and she has OCD.  Her father also has OCD and this commonality has brought a bond between them that no one else can touch.
Reece is the new guy at work who is instantly taken by Bailey's quirky personality and after checking her out from afar for a week, he notices her OCD-ness and thinks it's kinda adorable.  He wants to date Bailey and after giving her a scorching kiss at the movies one night, she too wants it.
Reece is completely taken with  Bailey, he can read all her little telling tics and also knows what she is thinking a lot of the time.  Bailey is very open about her 'condition' with Reece and she notices that her urges begin to waver quite a lot after they begin to spend more time together.  I just need to say that the bedroom action between these two is off the charts, Reece is a freaking hot, sexy  and very naughty lover.  Bailey had no idea what was coming when she gave into her desire to be with Reece - oh hang on that was her coming - a lot!
Reece is so awkward at times and when he gets nervous he just yabbers on and on. There was so much humour between them too, I found myself reading bits out loud to my other half so he could understand why I was laughing so much that tears were running down my face  :)
Bailey knows that her relationship with Reece could very well be too good to be true, in fact she is almost waiting for the floor to drop from under her.  However, things aren't always as they seem and even though Bailey sees herself as the one with all the issues, Reece too has his own insecurities.
When the floor is dropped from under her, Bailey falls, she falls hard.  She is pulling down Reece with her and knows they have reached that moment where she has to decide is all of this worth it?
"This was my battle.  I had to be the hero.  I had to be the one to rescue because I was the one who discarded" - Bailey
I loved taking this journey with Bailey and as she fought to find a way to accept herself and that she deserved to be loved by a man like Reece.
I give this five Puddin Pop stars

“Annie!” I squealed, running and scooping her up before she had the chance to escape. I rained kisses all over her face. She was clearly confused, but she seemed to like it. The evidence? She dropped her doll and squeezed my neck.

Erica stared at me through narrowed eyes. “No one, including me, likes my children that much. What is going on?”

Annie giggled on cue, like she understood her mother’s words. I laughed outright.
“Your momma’s silly, isn’t she? Isn’t she?” I asked, poking Annie’s sides.

“Oh my God, who are you?” Erica demanded. “Where’s my BFF who promised me she’d never have children so I could live vicariously through her? I swear to God if you’re pregnant…”

“Calm down,” I said over the top of Annie’s head. She twisted in my arms signaling she was over my show of affection. I placed her on the floor beside her discarded doll. “How would I even be pregnant?”

“Sex. It’s called sex,” Erica replied. She finished folding the last of Little Noah’s shirts, then tossed it in the laundry basket.

“Don’t say s-e-x in front of the baby!” I chided.

“B, she doesn’t know what sex is.”

“She’ll repeat it.”

“Who cares?”

“Oh, so you want to be the mother with the kid who knows the bad words?” I asked.

“Bad word?” Erica asked, laughing.

“You know what I mean,” I said. “You want to be the mother who all the other mothers gossip about? Like about how bad your parenting skills are?”

Erica placed her hand on her hip. “Yeah, I do. Fuck ‘em. Fuck all those mothers. Fuck their playdates and mommy groups and fucking Melissa and Doug puzzles. Fuck their running strollers and baby couture and breastfeeding advice. Fuck their—”

“ERICA!”

“What?”

I looked down at the floor, but Annie was gone. She’d walked away somewhere, no doubt the kitchen since that seemed to be her favorite place to play.

S. Walden used to teach English before making the best decision of her life by becoming a full-time writer. She lives in Georgia with her very supportive husband, who prefers physics textbooks over fiction and has a difficult time understanding why her characters must have personality flaws. She is wary of small children, so she has a Westie instead. She is the USA Today bestselling author of Going Under. When she's not writing, she's thinking about it.

A Surprise Announcement from Lauren!!!

Surprise! The Caught Up in Love series is continuing! Bryan - as in Kat and Bryan - has a younger sister and she goes to college in Los Angeles. She has something in common with Kat - Jess also is a huge fan of the movies and she's putting herself through college as a celebrity photographer. I'm so excited to bring you more of these characters and introduce readers to the "west coast" side of the Caught Up in Love cast of characters and friends. Kat & Bryan will both appear in this story and you'll also get to meet Matthew Harrigan's brother who lives in LA (you know this if you read Far Too Tempting). Here's the storyline and the book releases in August.

Celebrity photographer-in-training Jess Leighton desperately needs to crash the wedding of the year. Snapping just one pic of the A-list Hollywood couple tying the knot will pay her way through school, but with security tighter than the bride-to-be's corset, she'll need more than her camera and smarts - she'll need help from her biggest rival, William Harrigan.

Hot, motorcycle-riding Will is the last person Jess trusts, but he's her only ticket in. Good-looking, charming, and British, he's a triple threat. And he's got that sexy accent to boot. Soon, sparks are flying off-screen and in front of the cameras as they devise a plan to sneak into the ceremony. But when Jess' new celebrity client raises the stakes with a photo shoot of the maid-of-honor, she wonders if she's in over her head.

Blackmail, botox, and the worst Breakfast Club remake in the world? It's all in a whirlwind week's work in Hollywood. The audience loves a happy ending, but in a town where everyone's acting and no one's playing on the same team, can Jess find her own ever after in time?

**STARS IN THEIR EYES is part of the New York Times & USA Today Bestselling CAUGHT UP IN LOVE series. It follows the sister of the hero in Caught Up In Us and can be read as a standalone, though you will likely enjoy the other books in the series.**
