Book Two: Jax’s Story
I believe in soul mates. Why? Because I have one and her name is Lily Madison.
I’ve loved Lily my whole life; she’s all I’ve ever known. But sometimes, when something has always been there, it’s hard to recognize it for what it is. I didn’t realize how deeply Lily was ingrained in every fabric of my soul until I felt her absence.
Sometimes in life, once choices are made and paths are altered, it is often impossible to go back.
I know this because I stand here with a two-carat engagement ring in my hand, waiting to ask someone to be my wife. I’m ready to love and cherish her ‘til death do us part. But, there’s just one problem.
She isn’t Lily.
Will the choices that have been made change our path forever or can fate find its way?
A Forever Kind of Love is the second book in the series. You MUST read A Beautiful Kind of Love first. It also makes writing a review very difficult as I don't want to give away too much. So, I am going to stick to just my feelings on the characters.
Alright, I'm just saying this upfront and you can judge me all you want but....I hate Stella. There, I said it. And I don't feel the least bit guilty about it either. I probably should feel differently now that I've read this book, but I don't. So yeah, not my favorite by a long a shot.
Now that I've gotten that out of the way, on to the ones who mattered (to me).
Jax. Oh, dear sweet, dumb, lovable, selfish, selfless Jax.. I had SO many mixed emotions when it came to him in this book. I was seriously all over the place when it came to him. One minute I loved him and felt his actions were honorable, but then just a page later and I'd want to strangle him. He had to work really hard to win me over this go round and even now, I'm not sure he did.
And Lily took a lot on emotionally is this book. She was determined that her forever was with Jax and even when it seemed hopeless, her heart never gave up. I hated what she was put through, it felt like too much. I think that was my major issue with Jax. How much emotional turmoil did he think she could withstand??? Evidently a lot if this book is any indication.
Overall, a great series even if it did make me want to bang my head against a wall a time or two.
God, I love her. I cradle her face between my hands, staring into her eyes for a beat before I crash my lips against hers taking her in a soul devouring kiss. Taking what’s mine. What I want. What I’ve always wanted.
