There are many rules a priest can't break.
A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God.
I've always been good at following rules.
Until she came.
My name is Tyler Anselm Bell. I'm twenty-nine years old. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again.
I am a priest and this is my confession.
***Priest is a standalone, full-length novel with an HEA. For mature audiences only.***
The title alone suggests that this is going to be a
forbidden romance right? And that is why
I wanted to read this, I love getting caught up in a story that just by the
title alone insinuates a lot of angst.
A priest is not an untouchable, mythical creature, they are
just human beings like us. They may have
taken a vow of celibacy and devoted their life to God but they are still human
too. Not all priests are old and wrinkly.
It's true that less young men are choosing this as a vocation but some
still do.
I can remember sitting in a Sunday mass one day and my
husband leaned over and quietly said 'is it wrong that I am checking out your
cleavage in church?' My reply was 'is it
wrong that I think the priest is hot?' - true story. So therefore, the fact that Father Bell in
this story is young and good looking is completely plausible. However, let's all remember, this is fiction
so he can be anything the author chooses to write :)
Poppy Danforth arrives in the confession booth one
afternoon, looking for a bit of guidance I guess. She appears to have very little verbal filter
as she recounts her sins over several different occasions. I will admit that I found her a bit too
forthcoming with information and almost deliberately enticing Father Bell. It was obvious she was attracted to him and
although it was inappropriate, she did nothing to hide it.
Father Tyler Bell has only been a priest for three years and
takes pride in his parish community. He
has done great things in this town since he arrived. He lives with great sorrow however and the
path that he has chosen to live has only slightly dulled it. He is surprised by what he is feeling for
Poppy and his lack of self control around her.
What is it about this woman that has him questioning everything?
'Is this Your will for me? Am I giving into lust? Or am I finally
realizing Your plan for my life?'
Father Bell in prayer
This was a really controversial but erotic read. It is a story about finding your path in
life, even if you think you had already found it.
I give this 4 stars.
"If I'd never met you, I
would have never truly lived." - Tyler
