I had EXTREMELY HIGH expectations for this book. And Keri Lake DELIVERED! This series has been consistent with pulling me in and not letting go. With it’s addictive characters and the cunningly constructed plot lines that have been woven together with a continued theme following in to each book featuring new couples.

Gavin is the eldest son of Wrath, a demon prince. Wraths are punishers of those who’ve wronged and each demon specializes in delivering a form of pain, be it mental or physical. The son’s of Wrath are feared by most and coveted by woman.  Gavin and his brothers work on the motive vengeance. At the end of Soul Resurrected (Book #2) NOTHING is going good for Gavin.

For one he was sentenced to be imprisoned in Obisdius an underworld prison.

Second, he is now in debt to be enslaved by a succubus. Sabelle, a former employee who may just have an ax to grind with the eldest son of Wrath after being unjustly fired by him.(Succubus: a female demon who feeds off sexual energy as well as sucking away your soul)

Third, he is super close to his savidon.( a demon male’s sexual prime where he experiences uncontrollable lust and is practically  forced to choose a life mate)

Basically the guy is FU*KED three different ways.

Sabelle needs Gavin in order to complete a dangerous mission. When things in her life take a down turn she finds herself needing him a little more then she expected to.  The fiercely independent Sabelle now has a man who does not easily back down, watching her back whether she wants him to or not.

My Thoughts

While Gavin already owned my heart I assumed it would take time for me to adjust to Sabelle…Well I was completely wrong. From the previous book readers are left unsure of her intentions so I was leery. Yet in no time I fell head over heels for Sabelle and her protective momma bear ways. She was strong, independent and determined to do whatever was necessary to protect her family. She appealed to me on a basic level with her love and strength.  Great job Keri Lake! You never stop amazing me! As the series pushes on it just gets better and better!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!!!The character's are Sexy, Lovable and Mysterious! The writing is TOP NOTCH! And the plot/story lines are strategically layered with a touch of mystery that leaves you wanting MORE!

This looks like it will be the first instalment in a series based around the town of Hope, population 3000.  I really enjoy reading the M/M genre and this was a great quick read.

Jared lives on his farm, growing produce for his growing list of clients.  This is something he knows and loves doing.  When his ex-wife calls him to tell him that her step brother Lucas is coming to stay for a couple of weeks, that it will be a favour to her father, he reluctantly agrees to it.

Jared has always been attracted to Lucas but the version that steps off the bus is a whiny, spoilt and full of self entitlement Lucas.  This is going to be tougher than he first thought.  He is still really good looking though so I guess there is that.

Lucas is fuming about being sent to a farm and the small town of Hope.  Jared soon puts him to work sorting out his home office, which will free him up more to work his farm.

There is a mutual growing attraction between these two and when they finally admit what they both are feeling things get really hot between them. I love that this was a slow building realisation between them, nothing felt rushed.  Jared is not a one night stand kind of guy and when he is with someone, it's because he wants to know them and give himself fully.  This is a new experience for Lucas who has never been a relationship kind of guy but he wants to with Jared.

I enjoyed this hot sexy story and give it 3.5 stars

The Mad, Mad Love Begins…

This was like taking a walk down memory lane.  Kahlen takes us back to the moment when Ryan first laid eyes on Julia.  We get an insight into all of his thoughts and feelings as he and Julia become friends.

 

Over the three years that they are at college Ryan constantly battles with his feelings for Julia.  He is in love with her but also values his friendship with her above everything else.  He thinks that taking the next step with her is too big a risk to take, he wants to keep her in his life and a relationship with her could ruin that for both of them.

 

Julia is in love with Ryan too and it is heartbreaking reading about how she deals with him dating and sleeping with other girls.  Every time she tries to move forward and date other guys, Ryan steps in like a jealous boyfriend and manages to intervene.  He can't have her but he doesn't want anyone else too either.

 

Knowing what the outcome of this couple's story is made this a lot easier to read but I did get annoyed with Ryan and all of his to-ing and fro-ing.  Poor Julia was in a no win situation with him, her heart got constantly battered about and her college experience was laced with a lot of frustration and sadness at the hands of Ryan.

 

Luckily he came to senses and was honest about his feelings for Julia and they rode off into the sunset to live happily ever after....  okay that is not entirely true and if you haven't read The Remembrance Trilogy yet then I highly recommend you do!

 

I give this 4 stars

The biggest moment of my life found me unexpectedly.  It crept up softly, and settled around me like a fuzzy blanket.  A mere whisper; it hit me like a sledgehammer.  At the time, I knew it was significant, but I didn’t realize just how those few seconds would change absolutely everything: how one brief glance could leave such an indelible stamp on the remainder of my life.  It would become a contradiction; an unstoppable force that would send me reeling out of my control, churning and shredding my emotions, but create the most incredible contentment I’d ever feel.  Contentment that could wrap me up in a warm, safe place or devastate me to the core and leave my heart in shambles.  It would become years of want and pain, lust and love… It would hurt like the deepest hell, but become the most euphoric and precious ecstasy I’d ever know.  I’d never forget that day, that moment; that glance. 

It would wreck me.  It would make me.
