Blog Tour Review & Giveaway: Greed by Fisher Amelie

GREED (Book 2 in the Seven Deadly Series)
By: Fisher Amelie
Release Date: October 28th

Gather ‘round, love,
because I want you. I want what you have, I want what you don’t have, I want
more of what I already have. I want. But if you so much as ask for something in return, go ahead and walk away. Know if you want to play in my world, it’s every man for themselves and the weak become mine. Leeches will be obliterated because I make it my job to destroy them. I protect what’s mine an I take what’s yours...because that’s what I do. I want.

My story will not endear me to you and, frankly, I could care less if it does because I’m in this for the money and nothing else. There’s nothing redeeming about me. I’m a corrupt, money hungry, immoral asshole from Los Angeles. I’m every man’s worst nightmare and every girl’s fantasy.

I’m Spencer Blackwell...And this is the story about how I went from the world’s most coveted guy to the guy no one wanted around and why I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

When I read Vain back in January, I fell in love. Not only with the story itself and the characters, but also with the author's writing. She has the ability to make you feel and experience everything that is happening in the book. You walk away feeling like you have learned the same life lessons as the characters.

When you first begin this book, you will see the money hungry Spencer. The one who will do anything to fatten his account. His security blanket. His ticket out. But all the money in the world couldn't protect him from the disgust he feels for himself. He hates the person he has become. But yet, he continues on the same path. That is until he is forced to veer off his original course to help someone he loves.

For me, Greed was about family and the sacrifices you are willing to make for them. Spencer is faced with a tough decision in the beginning of this book that leaves him making a drastic decision to save someone very important to him. It takes him on a journey I know he would have never chose for himself, had he had the choice. But it was one, by the end of the book, you also knew he wouldn't change even if he could.

While I didn't love Greed as much as Vain, the story was still a powerful one with yet another great message. Ms. Amelie stories are unique in that I always feel the supporting characters are just as important as the main ones. Every person plays such a huge role in the overall scheme of things, I never really feel that the book is just one person's. An amazing feeling to read a story that shed light on the value of family and friends in one's life.

I will close my review here by saying if you are looking for that "something different" in a sea of repetitive storylines, THIS series is just what you need. And best of all, each book is a stand-alone with NO CLIFFHANGER!

Fisher Amelie is the author of The Leaving Series, Callum & Harper and Thomas & January. She began her writing career as a copywriter for an internet marketing company wherein one of their client's said, 'Hey! You're funny. You should write books'. Which in turn she said, 'Hey, get out of here! This is the lady's restroom.' While washing her hands and the embarrassment from her face, she thought they may have had a valid point. So, she took the thousands of hours of writing stories growing up, tucked them into her pocket and began writing and writing and writing.

  4. Hmm...I'd have to say Envy. It's crazy the things people will do to hurt someone when they're jealous of them or of what they have. Thanks for the giveaway!

  5. Sloth/Idle! I'm curious how Fisher Amelie will use this as a theme for one of her books.
