Blindfolded Innocence

Blindfolded Innocence

By Alessandra Torre

In looking at the cover of this book, I almost didn’t read it.  I don’t know what it was but it did not wow me.  You know what they say—don’t judge a book by its cover—well this is the book that falls in that category.

Julia Campbell, a pre-law student, has just broken off her engagement.  She is now free, well until she begins her internship at a prestigious law firm. Her boss has warned her to stay away from one of the partners in the firm, Brad De Luca.  He tells her that De Luca is bad news and she needs to stay clear of him.

Brad De Luca is one of the best divorce attorneys.  Brad has made quite a reputation for himself.  He has slept with pretty much every woman that has crossed his path, including his clients.  He is straight forward and very persuasive.  He does things his way—always.  He is also incredibly hot!!!

Julia, who loves a challenge, does pretty good at staying away from De Luca.  She only meets him once and concludes that he is a jerk and wants to keep away from him, but continues to think about him. She doesn’t want to risk her internship.

Then a phone call comes to Brad and it peaks his interest in Julia and he has to meet her.  Really meet her.  Julia does very good at holding him at arms-length, but Brad LOVES a challenge.  He lives for it.  So the hunt is on!

The hunt goes to Vegas where I guess---what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas????  Hmmm.. not sure about that one.  There is so much that happens in Vegas.  The bottom line for me was….I wanted to kick and scream at Brad here.  I was pissed at him.  All I could think was WTF???  Who in the hell would do that???  Obviously him!

There is lots sexual tension between Brad and Julia.  There are m/f, f/f and m/f/m scenes in this book.

I really enjoyed this book and didn’t want it to end.  I wanted to know what was going to happen.  I stayed up until 2am trying to stay away to finish it.  I didn’t want to put it down.  I am super excited for the second book and am so glad that I got past the cover!

Rock Chick Redemption (#3) by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Redemption (Rock Chick #3)

By Kristen Ashley

This is my favorite Rock Chick book so far.  I love Hank and I love the humor in this book.

Rock Chick Redemption is Hank’s story.  Oh, yes..and Roxie’s!

Roxie is on the run from an abusive ex who won’t take no for an answer.  She has tried everything to get rid of him and now she things she has a full proof plan to do just that.

She goes to Denver to visit her Uncle Tex. (I fully admit that I’m an idiot. It took me till chapter 2 to realize who her Uncle Tex was…..DUH!)

Anyway, away from my stupidity.

When entering Fortnum’s, she runs into the Hot Boy Brigade and lays eye on Hank.  Roxie is trying to get away from one man and doesn’t want another, but see instant sparks with Hank.

Quote:  “It looked like GQ was having a convention and all the best looking guys had decided to have coffee at Fortnum’s before going to seminars on how to cope with being really, unbelievably, fucking gorgeous.”

And he wastes no time showing her and everyone else his automatic interest.

Quote:  “’Fuckin’ A, Roxie.   Right On!’  Uncle Tex boomed and I stared, not knowing what in the hell he was talking about. ‘What?’ I asked.  Uncle Tex didn’t answer me, he looked to Mace and Vance and declared, ‘You boys gotta learn to move faster or all the good ones’ll be gone.’”

I loved this line.  I could just imagine the boys sitting there and listening to Tex yell!  Ahhhh…

Hank Nightingale—swoon—holy hotness of a man.  Words to describe Hank:  hunk, sweet, honest, loving, caring, hardworking, protective, hot, cop.  Just to name the ones off the top of my head!  Hank falls instantly for Roxie and knows she has trouble immediately.  He doesn’t know what trouble, just knows that she has it.  It fires up his protectiveness instantly.  He doesn’t care what it is, just knows that she is his.

We embark on a roller coaster ride of kidnapping, guns, blood, love, hate, lust, selflessness, haunted houses and sex to name a few.  It is a freaking awesome ride!!!!!  This is the third book in the series and my favorite so far.  I loved this story and clung on to it.  I laughed my ass off with Roxie’s parents.  I loved them. Their banter was freaking hilarious and had me rolling!  I also loved that all the characters are there and are building their lives.  I love learning about all them.

I can’t wait for the next one!  Bring it!

Meet the Baumgartners (0) by Selena Kitt

Meet The Baumgartners (Baumgartners 0)

Whoa… This book is very---very erotic.  I needed a cold shower immediately afterwards!

Carrie is a hard working college student who has to pee badly.  Instead of walking all the way down the hall, she decides to go to the men’s bathroom which is closer and hey..its 2 am no ones in there right??

Wrong!  She finds Steve ‘Doc’ Baumgartner masturbating in one of the shower stalls in a full blown out fantasy.  Carrie can’t help herself but watch him.  She also can’t help herself in joining in her own fun while watching.  Doc has his eyes covered and cannot see Carrie.  Well, until he finishes and opens his eyes.  Oopps.  And she runs away!

This meeting causes Doc to have the serious hots for Carrie and starts a pursuit.

Little does Doc know, Carrie’s involved with her roommate Maureen-lovers actually- who has a boyfriend that she wants to marry.

Oh what a tangled web we weave.

This book is seriously hot.  The bathroom scenes were scorching and some of the hottest I have read.  There is lots of sex.  /ff/ /fm/ /ffm/  Craziness!

I liked where the storyline was going, but I wanted more.  This was the down fall for me.  I wanted the book to continue.  Good thing this is the first book in a huge series!

Slave to Love by Nikita Black

Slave to Love

By Nikita Black

This is my second read of this book.  I loved it the first, but didn’t write a review.  I wanted to write it.

Homicide Detective Mick McGraw is trying to escape his past.  He is a well-respected detective and takes his job super seriously.  He is known as the Iceman, because of the ice that flows through his veins.  Nothing gets to him.  Nothing stops him.  He is the ultimate.

His current case, the Teddie Murders, is having him dig into a part of himself that he thought was locked away forever.  In order to catch a killer, he needs to enter a world that he doesn’t want to acknowledge again.

Caroline Palmer is an officer in vice. She mostly works the prostitution beat and has been very successful at it.  She is super sexy and carries herself that way.  She would have to with the clothes she has to wear in front of all of these men!  Short skirts and barely there tops…hmmm what’s a man to think.  Caro has dreams of being in Homicide.  She has wanted it since she started the force.  When Mick and her commanding officers come up with a proposition, what’s a girl to do? But she has NO idea what she is in for.  She has no idea about what Mick has planned for her.

Mick and Caro become partners and are sent to infiltrate a local BDSM club to catch the killer.  Caro soon realizes that this in not Micks first time here and begins to learn lots about herself and her sexual needs.

Who’s the killer?  That is the question throughout this book.  I for one was all over the place trying to figure it out.   It is a total suspenseful romance with erotic thrown in there to.  The sex scenes are hot, but they don’t dominate the storyline.  The story is awesome and well put together.  Can you figure out who did it??

Taking Chances by Molly McAdams

Taking Chances

Wow…  What other word is there?  It’s the only one I could formulate.  I just went on a rollercoaster of emotions in this book:  love, hate, anger, sadness, despair, hurt, excitement….. In collecting myself after reading, I still say Wow!

Eighteen year old Harper has lived under her father’s strict Marine thumb and has grew up on the base.  She has learned to keep herself in check at all times.  She never left base and was homeschooled. The only friends she had were the Marines in her father’s unit and they came and went.  Harper needed to get out.  She grabbed her opportunity to fly across the country to California to go to college.

Enter Bree, Harper’s flirty, fun, partying roommate who begins to show her the ropes of living without someone’s thumb pressing you down.

Bree’s hot, sexy, brother Chase.  At first sight, Harper is mesmerized by him and has serious hots for him.  Chase is a major ‘player’.  He has a different girl in his bed every night.  He’s a huge drinker and partier.

Brandon lives with Chase.  He is a hot hunk, tattooed, MMA fighter with a heart of gold.  Harper takes one look at Brandon and instantly sparks fly.

Oh, and let’s not forget Carter.  He’s a Marine and Harper’s best friend from the base.

This begins the roller coaster ride of this book and your emotions!

Harper begins dating Brandon and they are deeply in love—after only a couple of weeks.  But Chase is still in her thoughts.  She sees him all the time and he is a total jerk to her.  Except on Sundays.  Sundays are family days at Bree and Chase’s house.  Harper gets pulled into their family and wrapped around with love that she has never experienced before.  On these Sundays, Chase is warm and loving.  He never lets her leave his side.  He’s everything that she wants.  She is in love with Chase also.

Harper’s inexperience with boys opens the door to much of this story line, will she sleep with him and who will she sleep with.  It’s that pull to find out what she is going to do.

I am going to try my best with my thoughts to keep the spoilers out, but I don’t know if that is possible with this book.

I liked the heroine in this book.  She had lots of flaws, but was still strong.  She was very inexperienced in life, but did her best not to let it show.  She was faced with many difficult decisions and took them on head first.  She didn’t negate from her responsibilities and met them head on.

I LOVED Brandon.  Loved him.  I thought he was perfect, loving, caring and totally devoted to Harper.  Everything about him screamed that he was totally in love with her and would do anything for her.  He fighting scared the crap out of me, but also was super-hot!

Chase, to me, was a jerk.  He thought he could do what he wanted when he wanted.  I do admit as the story went on, I did fall in love with him too.  I feel in love with his soft side, not the jerk side. He was very complex and was in need of a girl like Harper to come into his life so he could make changes in it.

I was so angry with Harper.  So mad I wanted to jump in that book and rip her head off!  How could she??  I was crushed.  That anger for her carried throughout part of the book for me.  I had a hard time getting over it as quickly as the other people in this book.

My biggest problem with this book had nothing to do with writing.  That was wonderful and exceptional.  It had to do with this one question… What about Chase?  To me he was lost and never quite found.

Overall, this book is a MUST READ book.  I normally do not read college romance books.  I have only read a few and I am so glad that I saw this one on Goodreads to read.  This one did not disappoint.  I had dreams about this book and couldn’t get it out of my thoughts.  I am still thinking about it.

Rock Chick Rescue (Rock Chick #2)

By Kristen Ashley

Jet!  What an awesome name!  Jet is a doer…a mover and a shaker.  She sees a problem in her life or her family; she does what she has to—to make it better.  Well, she hasn’t had much choice.  Her father left the family, but pops back in for money.  Her mother had a stroke and has lots of medical problems, which Jet is paying for.  Her sister moved to LA and really hasn’t helped Jet out.  Did she complain?  NOPE!  She’s too strong.  Too dynamic to do that.  Does she ask for help?  NOPE…too much pride and stubbornness to do that.  She has always counted on herself.  It’s the ONLY person she CAN count on.

Jet has two jobs to help pay the bills.  By day, she is a barista at Fortnum’s, Indy’s book store.  She is getting to know all the people there and starting to think of them as friends.  At night, she works at Smithie’s.  The local titty bar.  No she doesn’t dance.  She’s a waitress.  But that doesn’t stop the owner from trying to get her on the pole!

Enter flaming hottie…EDDIE!  Ughh… I had a major thing for him.  I just melted at his description in the story.  I wanted to run my fingers on those abs!  Anyway..sidetracked.  Eddie is a cop.  He is honest, dependable, trustworthy and sexy!  Oh and also Lee Nightingale’s best friend.  This is how the whole connection to the Rock Chick comes in.  I love how Eddie doesn’t let Jet push him away and keeps forcing her to face her feelings for him.  Ahhhhh….

Jet’s dad ends up getting into some really bad stuff.  This leads to Eddie and the Nightingale team to protect her.  There is blood, guns, kidnappings, theft, bikes, jealous bad asses, more hot bad asses, Indy and her entire crew from Fortnum’s.  The story is all about how these men and women protect each other from the bad guys!

I loved this book.  I couldn’t put it down.  I loved the action and love.  I loved the possessiveness Eddie showed.  I love the hint of the other badasses that will be in the next stories.  I want to learn all of these men’s stories!  Ughh!  I can’t seem to read fast enough!

                Enjoy!!

A Little Harmless Sex (Harmless #1)

by Melissa Schroeder

Wow!  This book will get your motor running.  The bedroom scenes are very hot and inviting as you could say!  HA!

Max and Anna are best friends and have been for many years.  Max is very straight laced.  He likes everything in order.  Anna is very outgoing and adventurous.  She is a free spirit and the complete opposite of Max.

They have gone through lots of boyfriends and girlfriends, but never with each other.  They both think each other is hot, but won’t cross that line into ruining their tight friendship.

After Max’s fiancĂ© dumps him and Anna breaks up with her boyfriend, they decide to celebrate!

Enter……..tequila!  It reminded me of that song ‘Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off!”  After a night of way too much to drink, all kinds of hot and bothered feeling some out!  They have a night of hot harmless sex.

Max decides that he wants Anna, for good…forever.  We go along on the journey of them discovering a new area of their friendship.

Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to slap Anna.  She needed to get the cob out of her ass and just be with Max.  Max just tried and tried and Anna pushed and pushed.  Ughh…  But that’s what made it good!  The back and forth!

It’s only about 200 pages so it went pretty quickly.

If you are in need of getting your motor running, this is the book!
