Review: On The Record by K.A. Linde

Add to Goodreads:

For political reporter Liz Dougherty, election day—a day of looking toward the future and saying goodbye to the past—seems like a fitting time to start a new relationship. But feelings for her former flame still linger...

The sexy second book in bestselling author K.A. Linde’s Record series decides whether it’s better to pick up the pieces and move on...or to pick up right where you left off.

At the end of Off The Record Liz decided to walk away from Brady.  She knew that when it came to it, he would choose that over her anyway.  The only thing nagging at me about this is that didn't talk to him about this or give him a choice.
A little bit of time has passed now and her friendship with Hayden is now slowly moving into a relationship.  Hayden is so sweet.  It is clear that he absolutely adores Liz, even loves her.  He will do absolutely anything to make her happy.
You can't help feeling though that Hayden is the 'safe' man who makes her feel content and happy.  Brady, however, is the man that she was in complete lust with, he was more manly and primal.  Despite everything that she feels for Hayden, she seems to always have Brady not far from her mind.
"She loved Hayden.  She adored Hayden.  He was everything she ever wanted.  Well, almost."
Liz is moving forward with Hayden and Brady too has a regular girlfriend.  This is a good thing right?  Liz just needs to put Brady out of her mind, focus on her relationship with Hayden and her future career plans.  The intention is there but the reality is that she can't avoid him completely, working with his sister and the nature of her job means she will cross paths with him from time to time.
After a lot of soul searching, Liz makes a decision that completely changes everything for her after she is betrayed by someone she trusts and everything comes crashing down around her.  She is being pulled in one direction by her heart and the other by her common sense.  Which way will she choose to go?
"I feel like I'm going insane, that I'm splitting in two.  Because everything tells me I should run headfirst in the opposite direction, but then I look at you, I hear your voice, I see those pleading blue eyes and I'm lost.  I forget everything I should do, and I just know what I want to do"
I got so caught up in this story and near the end the pace really picks up until you are left dangling on the edge of a cliff, not a high cliff but a cliff all the same.  I'm really excited to read the conclusion to this fantastic story.  I would like to go On The Record to say I am totally #TeamBrady and I vote for him to win :)
I give this 4 stars
