Tanna Barker is a world champion barrel racer. But her personal life has been less of a success, and she’s feeling adrift. After her mother’s unexpected death, her father has remarried, and sold the Texas ranch she called home. Now a rodeo injury has left the restless spitfire holed up in Muddy Gap, unsure what her next move should be.
Until she meets her match in a wild, wild cowboy
Veterinarian August Fletcher has always put his job first. He’s never found a woman who could handle his on-the-road lifestyle. But when sassy, sexy Tanna blows into town, he finally finds the woman of his fantasies. And there’s something between them, but she claims she’s been burned by love ’em and leave ’em road dogs before. How can Fletch prove that he’s in it for the long haul, and that their sizzling relationship is better than winning any rodeo medal? It’ll take some sweet persuasion to convince Tanna that Muddy Gap is where she belongs.
After a brutal accident that left Tanna's body broken, her prize winning horse dead and homeless, Tanna packed up her horse trailer and moved to take a summer job at Split Rock in Wyoming. Being a native Texan, Tanna is strong, independent and a spit fire letting nothing get her down--except for her fear of getting back on a horse.
August Fletcher (Fletch) has no time for love--he barely has time to take a piss as the local large animal vet he's always on call. Taking calls at 1am is a norm for him, so when it comes to a relationship, he doesn't do them. Sex--hell yeah! He's all for a roll in the hay--but nothing more.
Until...the barrel racing bombshell walks into the local bar stopping his world on its axis. After one night of rough and tumble, mind blowing sex, Fletch knows he needs to see her again. But Tanna disappears only to be found at the local resort being chased by every man in the joint. Fletch's possessiveness kids in and wrangling this cowgirl takes a lot more than he was ever willing or planning to do.
LOVE--LOVE--LOVE-- THIS BOOK!!! So much so, I ran to my computer after finishing it and ordered the first four in the series, because I have to read them.
I love the character of Tanna. I admired how tough and strong she is--love how she doesn't take any shit from anyone and can definitely hold her own with a bunch of cowboys. I love her rough comebacks that her mouth can not hold on it. I also love how take chard she is with her sexuality--taking charge and then giving up control to Fletch. I admire her weaknesses and her growth in overcoming them.
Fletch is mouth watering, drop your panties, sexy beyond belief. I want one! He's a mater fiddler in that he could play Tanna's body exquisitely bringing her to ultimate pleasure. But what makes Fletch hot...is he's a really nice, honorable man. He comforts his patients owners and takes time with them. Loved how compassionate and loving he was. His ultimate weakness though is his job. his time is so focused on only that, when put on vacation....yes put...he doesn't know what to do with himself, except try to convince the feisty Tanna to be with only him.
Overall, wonderful fantastic read. Lorelei did a fantastic job writing these characters. I loved them from the bottom of my heart. I am in awe of her writing. Highly Recommended Read!!!!!
