Temporary. That’s the word I’d use to describe my life right now. I’m temporarily working double shifts—at least until I can break free. I’m temporarily raising my little brother—since apparently our actual mother doesn’t give a crap about either of us. And I always end up as nothing but the temporary girlfriend—the flavor of the week for every guy who’s heard the rumor that I give it up so easily.
At least Drew Callahan, college football legend and local golden boy, is upfront about it. He needs someone to play the part of his girlfriend for one week. In exchange for cash. As if that’s not weird enough, ever since he brought me into his world, nothing really makes sense. Everyone hates me. Everyone wants something from him. And yet the only thing Drew seems to want is . . . me.
I don’t know what to believe anymore. Drew is sweet, sexy, and hiding way more secrets than I am. All I know is, I want to be there for him—permanently.

As you have probably gathered from the summary for this book, Drew is hiding something. I mean how can he not be?! A hunky college football quarterback looking to pay a girl he doesn't even know to be his pretend girlfriend for a week? Yeah something doesn't add up.
Fable...let me just say I love the uniqueness of her name!..is not interested in entertaining Drew's offer. Well at least not until he names the amount he is willing to pay her. There is no way she can turn this down when she is struggling to make ends meet as it is. But Fable is no fool. She knows early on there is more going on than Drew is willing to disclose. And she is okay with that...for now.
Since this whole relationship is a fake, Drew and Fable work out the details of how they met, how long they have been together, etc. on the 4 hour drive to his parents home. Things are awkward to say the least seeing as how they barely know one another. But Fable is determined to make this work and be the best fake girlfriend she can be! So she comes up with a plan to save Drew if he should need to be rescued for any reason. They will have a safe word. One that can be spoken or he can text when he needs her.
I guessed pretty early on what Drew was hiding. Do not let that fact scare you off though. It is not the only plot twist! And I totally did not see the others coming! This author has taken a story that has been done by many others but twisted it into something fresh and unique. I read this book in one sitting because I could not stop until I knew what was going to happen! I am going to tell you up front this is another one of those cliff hanger books. So, prepare yourself to be left wanting more...
Lost. Everything in my life can be summed up by that one sickening word. My football coach blames me for our season-ending losses. So does the rest of the team. I wasted two whole months drowning in my own despair, like a complete loser. And I lost my girlfriend—Fable Maguire, the only girl who ever mattered—because I was afraid that being with me would only hurt her.
But now I realize that I’m the one who’s truly lost without her. And even though she acts like she’s moved on and everything’s fine, I know she still thinks about me just as much as I think about her. I know her too well. She’s so damn vulnerable, all I want to do is be there to help her . . . to hold her . . . to love her.
I just need her to give me one more chance. We may be lost without each other, but together, we’re destined to find a love that lasts forever.

I know we have a rating system, with the highest number of hearts I can give a book is 5. But I can't stick to that with this book. So, I created my own system for this one and am giving it 10 hearts! YES, it is THAT good!!
The whole time I was reading this book, I had a smile on my face. Well, pretty much the whole time. There were a few moments that didn't warrant a smile. But, let's just say, by the time I finished,my face hurt from smiling so much!! So, as you might have guessed, there are a lot of happy moments, steamy moments and just down right sappy moments in this book that made the wait more than worth it!!
Monica promised us a whole lot more smexy in this book...and boy oh boy did she deliver! I LOVED all the moments between Drew and Fable. Although, I have to say, my fave would have to be Strip True Confessions. That was HAWT! They had a lot of time to make up for in this book and believe me,they worked really hard to catch up on all the nookie they missed.
Things are not all butterflies and rainbows for Drew and Fable. They do still both have issues. And they do get in the way at times for them. Neither has ever truly been in a real relationship, so they are learning as they go. And after the way Drew left Fable at the end of OWG, well I do believe he has some ass kissing to do!
But all the ups and downs, doubts and insecurities are worth it in the end. Because Drew and Fable do get their HEA, just as Monica promised us they would.
Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.
I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.

Calling all Drew and Fable fans! This is a MUST READ novella.
You would think there would be no tears shed with this book, right? I mean, Drew and Fable are getting their fairy tale ending. So, there should be all smiles and butterflies at the romance of it all.
These two have been through SO much together that I couldn't help the ugly crying during the important moments in their lives that happen throughout this book. To see them finally settling into their HEA was so bittersweet. And yes, there were the smiles and butterflies too because it was all so sweet!
A perfect ending for Drew and Fable's story! And now, I am eagerly awaiting glimpses of them in Owen's book, Four Years Later!
Side note: I don't care what kind of wedding cake they had in the book, THIS will always be the one I picture for them! Kind of perfect, right?!
Over. That about sums up everything in my life. Suspended from my college football team and forced to cut back my hours at The District bar because of my crappy grades, I can’t keep turning to my sister, Fable, and her pro-football playing husband, Drew, to bail me out. I just can’t seem to find my own way. Weed and sex are irresistible temptations—and it’s messed up that I secretly hand over money to our junkie mom. A tutor is the last thing I want right now—until I get a look at her.
Chelsea is not my type at all. She’s smart and totally shy. I’m pretty sure she’s even a virgin. But when she gives me the once over with those piercing blue eyes, I’m really over. But in a different way. I won’t deny her ass is killer, but it’s her brain and the way she seems to crave love—like no one’s ever given her any—that make me want her more than any girl I’ve ever met. But what would someone as seemingly together as her ever see in a screwed up guy like me?
