Obsession, defined as the domination of one's thoughts or
feelings by a persistent idea, image or desire....
Chantel Rosenberg's passion for music and life had never
shone brighter than the time she spent in Bordeaux France. It's a time when
feelings arose and desires ran deep, a time that fundamentally changed her
life.
A man living in seclusion, Phillipe Tibideau is haunted and
plagued by memories he cannot disregard. Choosing to live a quiet life in his
Chateau surrounded by the vineyards of France, he's left his passion for art
behind.
However, the time has arrived to tell his side of a tale. A
tale that has depicted him as a 'beautiful monster' and he's finally allowing
someone close.
Close enough to ask questions. Questions he's not sure he
wants to answer. Questions about her.
For up and coming journalist Gemma Harris, the pursuit of
truth is what drives her and when a job of a lifetime presents itself there is
nothing in the world that will stop her from taking it.
Even if it does mean leaving her home for several months to
stay at Chateau Tibideau, with him.
This is a story of what happens when three passionate lovers
collide and the desire for truth, art and music merge.
Chateau Tibideau is a place full of unanswered questions,
dark sinful desire and a beauty so hauntingly sad it will have you wondering
how you will ever leave the same.....
Blind Obsession is totally different from Ella’s Exquisite
series. It is dark, haunting, twisted
and will stay with you long after reading.
I read this book before going to bed and I had a hard time sleeping. My thoughts were all scrambled up and a big
blender and I couldn’t get myself settled.
Even though I finished yesterday, I am still feeling unease.
Now, don’t get me wrong, my unease is not about not liking
the book. I did like it. It was very thought provoking. My unease came in when, I thought of myself in
Gemma’s shoes and what I would do in them.
I am not sure I could have made the choices she did and been able to
live with myself.
Phillipe to me was so unbelievably broken and hurt that I
had a hard time wrapping my head around his feelings. They are so destitute and
raw. Our journey to find out why he is
this way is one I couldn’t put down. I
wanted to know more. I wanted to know
the why.
“God, you’re so naïve.
I’m not just broken. I’m twisted inside
my own f*****g nightmare that never goes away.
I’m f****d on the inside. You’re
only seeing what I want to show you.”
Ella did a great job sucking me in and holding my attention
through this book. It was a whole new experience
the way that she set this one up. I was literally
in the chateau with Phillipe and Gemma. I was feeling their feelings. I was immersed in them.
With is this being Ella’s first erotic book, she did a very
hot job of being very descriptive and focusing a lot on the feelings that were
going on with each of the characters. These
scenes were sexy and hot!
While Gemma is the lead woman in this story, there is also another
woman who is as prominent as her. The
way Ella wrote her was very inventive
and very intimate. I give her kudos for
this because this was not an easy task.
Overall, this book is a total mindf**k, but you will love
it!
First off I would like to say a big thank you to
Michele, for having me here today at Reality Bites to talk about my new erotic
novel, Blind Obsession.
The question Michele has asked of me for this post
today is - what was my inspiration behind this novel and how does it differ
from my two contemporary novels Exquisite and Entice?
When this idea first came to my mind I was wrapping
up Entice and getting ready to sit down and write Edible. The problem was, I
kept having flashes of a troubled artist and he was always behind a canvas
entranced by a beautiful woman playing the violin. Immediately, I saw her as
someone in his past and I started to hunt around for my favorite violin pieces.
The pieces she played for him.
Finally, when I sat down at the computer and started
to write about the man I kept visualizing and that I was finally meeting for
the first time, and yes it felt like I was meeting him, Gemma was born. That is
how and why Gemma is written the way she is. Gemma came to life because I wanted to be there in the château
learning about Phillipe and since I couldn’t put my name in the story, I added someone to tell the tale. I wanted
every person who picked this book up to feel as though they were sitting
opposite Phillipe and learning about him.
Blind Obsession, as a story, differs from the
Exquisite series in so many ways. To start with the genre is different, its
erotica which gave me the freedom to delve into a darker side of myself. This
story is a tragedy at its core. It wasn’t an easy story to write and I don’t
feel it is an easy book to read. It is a story about the way people deal with
emotions that are bigger than themselves and how it changes them as a person.
I believe a good erotica is a story that intertwines
with erotic, carnal sexual situations. The two need to mesh and they must
enhance each other. In Blind Obsession my hope was to create that. I wanted the
sexual situations and encounters to be woven into the plot and to allow the
reader to feel the desperation and darkness the characters did, whereas, in my
contemporary romances they are much lighter and a romance is at the core.
Another major part of this book is the visual and
musical aspect of it. I really ‘saw’ this book in my mind. I felt as though I
was there at the château with the three of them and the more I sat down and
listened to the music I was writing about, the more I thought about how it
would be such an amazing experience if I could share this with the reader. So I
set out to make it happen and I really hope that it invites the reader to
understand my mind and my vision that much more.
I want to thank Michele for taking the time to read
Blind Obsession and I appreciate the opportunity she is affording me to be able
to offer you all an off to win an ARC copy of Blind Obsession.
Warmly,
Ella
